Politics of Denial

As the number of failed states, hostage burnings and beheadings, and church and school bombings increases exponentially, our President's reaction has been one of " alarming lassitude and passivity," so says Charles Krauthammer in the Washington Post. Americans are growing increasingly uneasy with the worldwide chaos that is roaring out of control. 

Krauthammer says the President, who seems increasingly irrelevant, insists "the real source of our metastasizing anxiety is the news media."

This would be funny if it were a sketch on SNL, but it is the REAL state of affairs, and the enemy is using real swords and gasoline and plastic explosives. Our security organizations are unanimous in their concerns that they cannot cope with the internal threats building with trained Americans waiting to be activated domestically.

Meanwhile, hundreds die in Jihad attacks all over the world every single day!

The President, as is his habit, is always quick to point fingers. As the turmoil around him boils, he is looking for a scapegoat; how convenient that he can tie all of the domestic as well as worldwide violence and instability to a common element, The News Media. It is everpresent! 

That would explain it all, because, as we all know, his administration has done nothing to stir up conflict. No, in fact, he has made it the hallmark of his domestic and international policies to avoid judgmentalism. Only the news business trades in judgmentalism, focusing on conflict, anxiety, differences instead of diversity.

If only we 'had a common source of information,' like we had in the early days of television. Mr. Obama would be much more comfortable if the state ran the news media!
